Christiana Figueres on Our Climate Crisis Options

Ms. Figueres is an internationally recognized leader on global climate change. She was Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) 2010-2016.

She directed numerous successful Conferences of the Parties during this time and culminated her efforts in the historical Paris Agreement of 2015. Throughout her tenure Christiana Figueres brought together national governments, corporations and activists, financial institutions and others to jointly deliver the unprecedented climate change agreement. For this achievement Ms. Figueres has been credited with forging a new brand of collaborative diplomacy.

Since then Ms. Figueres has continued to accelerate the global response to climate change. Together with Tom Rivett-Carnac, senior political strategist for the Paris Agreement, they have now just released the book The Future We Choose, which is a passionate call to arms. They state that we are still able to stave off the worst and manage the long-term effects of climate change, but we have to act now.

We know what we need to do, and we have everything we need to do it.
