He also serves as a member of the board of directors of Embarcadero Technologies (EMBT) and as a member of the advisory board of WebEx (WEBX). Timothy Chou has a Masters and Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign. Recognized as an industry leader, he has been featured in Forbes, Business Week and The Economist. In his capacity as one of the early leaders in the movement to business applications delivered as a cloud service he and his Oracle team, beginning in 1999, pioneered many significant business and technical solutions which led to the adoption of this new model by Fortune 500 companies both in North America and worldwide. Prior to his appointment to head up Oracle On Demand, he held numerous management positions at Tandem Computers and Reasoning, Inc. He is the author of several publications in the area of scalable, reliable network computing and holds patents in this area as well.
