Dr. Eduardo Aninat

Former Finance Minister of Chile

Dr Eduardo Aninat served as Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund and was Finance Minister of Chile. He was the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the IMF and World Bank and served three years as a member of the Development Committee of the World Bank and the IMF, representing Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Uruguay and Paraguay.

Dr. Aninat previously held a range of economic positions in the Chilean Government; these included chief senior negotiator for bilateral Canada-Chile trade agreement, and chief debt negotiator and senior advisor of the Central Bank of Chile and the Ministry of Finance. He has also been working as a consultant with large firms, and international institutions such as the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank and has advised several governments on matters ranging from tax policy to debt restructuring. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of several private companies and institutions in Chile and abroad.
