As the former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), James Woolsey is a well respected expert on national and international security. Since 2006 he has been actively addressing the issue of climate change and how national security can be strengthened through reduced oil dependency. James is currently a Venture Partner at VantagePoint, a venture capital firm.

During his career in the U.S. Government Mr Woolsey has served in four administrations both Republican and Democratic, where he held Presidential appointments including Director of CIA from 1993 to 1995. February 2002 to March 2008 he was Vice President of Booz Allen Hamilton and previously he was a partner at the law firm Shea & Gardner (now Goodwin Proctor) where he practiced for 22 years in the fields of civil litigation, arbitration and mediation. He currently serves and chairs on a range of government, corporate and non-profit advisory boards and is the Annenberg Distinguished Visiting Fellow at Stanford University.
