Joschka Fischer talks about The Middle East's Lost Decade

The situation in the Middle East has never been as rapidly changing as it is today, nor has it been so widely reported – either by official sources, or by the citizens themselves. However this does not mean that this makes it any less challenging to comprehend the implications and ramifications for everyone concerned.
From Bahrain which is undergoing a period of civil unrest, through Egypt which is transitioning from autocratic rule, to Iran with its infighting regime and tensions with the West, all are typical of the types of situations that other countries in the region are also enduring.
We represent a number of specialists with insight and expertise in these countries, including Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Joschka Fischer, Florence Eid and Professor Chuck Freilich.

The United States has waged three wars since Al Qaeda's terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001: against Al Qaeda, in Afghanistan, and in Iraq. The first two were forced upon the US, but the third was the result of a willful, deliberate decision by former President George W. Bush, taken on ideological grounds and, most likely, for personal reasons as well.
